Biography

Cycle Of Ruin is a melodic death metal band hailing from the United States of America.
and comprised of Cory Jackson-Guitars, Jaymz Miller-Drums, Aaron Chase-Bass and Brant Hutchcraft-Vocals.

Cycle Of Ruin originally began in the winter of 2004 as a side project of Brant that included a former bandmate from his 80's era thrash/speed metal band Enchanter.
Cycle Of Ruin as a duo, wrote and recorded one, 20 minute song divided up into five parts entitled The Blade Of Kron and was originally intended to have BRANT and Gag guitarist, Cory Jackson onboard to handle the drum duties.
Things did not go as planned and the project never officially saw the light of day with only two of the actual tracks ever surfacing.
Brant continued on with his solo work under the name BRANT and the first official incarnation of Cycle Of Ruin was finished before it ever got started.

Skipping ahead a few years and the band that has been performing with BRANT live for well over a decade and a half, begins working on material with him and the name that Brant has had floating around without any substance and needed a home, fit perfectly. Cycle Of Ruin, the name - is resurrected. This time, with the full battery of a complete and proper line up.

Cory Jackson and Aaron Chase had been two thirds of a very notable extreme metal outfit called Gag
Gag released some well received recordings of their own and had been working with BRANT initially since the very late 90's performing live with him but never appearing on any of his solo albums.
BRANT and Gag often paired up as two separate acts with Gag doing a set of their own technical heaviness before bringing on BRANT, then switching gears into aggressive power metal mode, delving headlong into BRANT's extensive back catalog.
The original drummer for Gag, Stacy Wade, needed to officially vacate his position in 2008 due to family commitments and Jaymz Miller from the very prominent Arkansas based technical death metal unit, Killer Operating System, was asked to come into the fold.

Brant Hutchcraft (BRANT) states: I had missed being a member of full band for some time. Though the live band was indeed known as BRANT, studio wise the BRANT band was comprised of Jeff Grady and Kelly Matthews from Lordchain, whom I had been creating and recording with since about 1996 or so and who were monumental in helping to create the BRANT sound that people have come to recognize.
However, I felt that the fellows that were hitting the live stage with me were a bit left out. The three of them being very talented of course having been able to pull off the BRANT album material without missing a step all these years, needed to have their creative side brought to light on an official, tangible offering.
They (Cory, Jaymz and Aaron) were bringing some incredible pieces to the table that were different from BRANT, perhaps leaning a slight more to the extreme side of things. Though Jeff and Kelly are no slouches when it comes to throwing down respectable heaviness, BRANT was needing to stay BRANT and this other material needed and wholly deserved an identity of its own as the two were completely separate entities. Hence, Cycle Of Ruin.

The latter part of 2012 saw Cycle Of Ruin moving further into its own being and by early 2013 entering the studio to begin capturing some of its collective creativity in the form of demos.
The product of that first session was a debut single, Hold The Line which found the band clawing at the edges of the melodic death metal soundscape.
Hold The Line's tasteful use of intensity and groove melded together astoundingly and formed a well received track, helping to catapult Cycle Of Ruin onto a respectable spire of the underground, extreme music scene.
Firing on all cylinders, the Cycle Of Ruin metal machine was now fully engaged.
The remainder of 2013 showed the band honoring live show commitments and finalizing more material for an E.P. as well as a full length record.
When January of 2014 came around the band entered the studio once again to begin the process of tracking a three song E.P entitled, The Crimson Fog Of Death.
Mixing hints of NWOBHM along with ample amounts of old school death metal and thrash, Cycle Of Ruin summoned and unleashed an all encompassing force of heavy metal power.
The original tracking of The Crimson Fog Of Death E.P. was done on 16 track Adat format to obtain a somewhat traditional, old school feel, then transferred to DAW and mixed by Zak Denham (Anagnorisis) with mastering duties handled by Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams).
Cycle Of Ruin's The Crimson Fog Of Death E.P. will be available fall of 2014.

Cycle Of Ruin will continue unleashing wave after wave of 100% American Made Metal to the masses and are so to begin tracking a full length offering tentatively due out in the spring/summer of 2015.
